Board of directors and responsibilities

Advent Air Ltd's directors and their roles are as follows:

Jeff Chatfield - Executive Chairman, Chairman of the Company’s Nomination Committee - formed the Company in 1997 and was the architect of the Company’s strategic acquisition of Skywest Airlines at a pivotal time. Mr Chatfield’s executive responsibilities include overseeing the corporate development as well as the business activities of the group. Mr Chatfield is a qualified and experienced public company director and business director in the fields of airlines, aircraft leasing, radio, TV and digital broadcasting. Mr Chatfield is also the Chairman of Avation PLC.

Ron Aitkenhead - Non-executive Director and a member of the Company’s Audit Committee and Nomination Committee - has significant public sector experience as Chairman of the Fremantle Port and as Chairman of the Board of the Central Wheatbelt Business Enterprise Centre. Mr Aitkenhead's qualifications include membership as a Graduate and Fellow of the Institute of the Company Directors (Australia) and he is registered as a Justice of the Peace with the Western Australian Department of Justice. He has also held committee positions with several community and sporting organizations in Western Australia.

John Jost - Non-executive Director and Chairman of the Company’s Audit and Remuneration Committees - worked as a journalist following his graduation from the University of Melbourne Law School. During his career, he was chief political correspondent of Melbourne’s principal broadsheet The Age. He has also served as publications and new projects manager for the Australian publishing company David Syme Ltd, and was a founding presenter of the highly respected ABC TV’s national nightly current affairs programme “The 7.30 Report”. In 1994, Mr Jost formed Bass Media which established an AM-FM radio network that is now part of the Macquarie Bank Radio Trust. He is a founder investor of the Company.

Seah Kian Peng - Non-executive Director, and a member of the Company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committees - is the Managing Director (Singapore) of NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Limited and the Chairman of NTUC Media Co-operative. NTUC Fairprice is a leading chain retailer in Singapore with over 180 supermarkets and convenience stores reporting a combined annual turnover of approximately SGD$1.5 billion and a staff strength of over 5,000. Mr Seah sits on various boards of the NTUC group as well as a number of Singapore public companies. He is the Chairman of the Singapore National Cooperatives Federation [SNCF] and holds the distinction of being the first Singaporean appointed to the Board of the global body, International Co-operatives Alliance, in its 112 year history.. He is also the Vice President of the Singapore Compact for Corporate Social Responsibility and is a board member of Singapore’s Centre for Fathering. Mr Seah has worked in both the public and private sectors throughout his career to date and also serves in many public and community organisations. He completed his tertiary education in Sydney, Australia and attended the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School. At the recent General Elections held in May 2006, Mr Seah was elected as a Member of Parliament in the Marine Parade GRC of Singapore.
